The large buck slowly trotted out of the dense brush and then paused, carefully raising his enormous rack. He turned his head slightly to the left and right, listening and sniffing the cool forest air. The forest was quiet, aside from the sounds of a few birds, some early evening insects chirping in unity and the sound of water churning shallowly at the edge of the river. The buck held his massive head high, with the air of being the leader of this terrain. Other White-Tail Deer slowly made their way out of the forest, feeling secure with their leader forging his way further up the river, they made their usual journey into twilight." -Peter R. Gerbert This original painting is on permanent display in the Osceola County Courthouse, in Kissimmee, Florida. |
