   “The Swallow-Tailed Kites are truly a magnificent bird; with their forked-tails working like rudders controlling their circling flight patterns in an almost constant pursuit of food. I've often seen them circling over my house and had a desire to capture them in a painting. When you see them up close, they have gorgeous, soft-white heads. Thanks to my Canon 100-400 lens, I finally acquired some great shots of them sitting in my boat on Silver Lake late one day. I brought in the dramatic sky to accentuate the saturated light of the setting sun that was already touching them.”    -Peter G
